I have to say, I was a bit apprehensive when I ordered this pan. It simply appeared to be too good to be true!
Over the years I have used many different kinds of pots and pans in the kitchen. Sadly, the best ones have usually been out of my financial reach because I always want the whole set rather than just one or two. Still I have used some of the finest sets at relatives homes with great envy.
Recently I lost two of my "go to" cooking pans and had to replace them immediately. A medium saute pan with a lid was one. I found this one and figured that something had to be wrong with it, but after a few days research on the web with feedback and comparisons, I placed my order. It arrived in short order and I decided to wait a few days to review it.
Wow! It's an excellent pan! Heavy, for sure, but I can cook on far lower heat than before. So far I have used it almost daily for the last two weeks or so and I am extremely pleased. And I LOVE the added bonus of the steam release vent on top! A little olive oil in the pan, turn on the heat and wait a moment for the pan to warm. No sticking or scorching because the pan cooks on lower temperatures. And it still looks as though it just came out of the box. A little Kleen King after each use and it's perfect. Oh... and I cook on a gas range, not induction.
I just can't say enough positive about the deal I got on this pan! I'm hoping that I can find more "sales" on Berndes. I'm hooked!
